After you click the scan button, a fake scan will run in your browser for a few seconds before informing you that the scan has been completed. Of course, no scan is actually being performed. It is just a ruse to trick you into thinking that you account is being 'sanitized'.
Meanwhile, your site and FTP details can be collected by the scammers and used to hijack your real hosting account. Once they have gained access, they can add scam web pages to your website and use the site's email accounts to send out spam and scam messages in your website's name.
They may also lock you out of your hosting account so that you can no longer gain access and taken back control.
Never click links in an unsolicited email that claim that you must urgently login to your hosting account. Don’t be panicked by dire claims about virus infections and threats of site deactivation.
Always login to your hosting account by entering the address into your browser.
Please Note: EuHost will NEVER ask for your password or any account details unless you create a support ticket from within your account, even then we may never ask for your password.
